Preparing P3015dn fairly typical for mono laser. The printer is quite large, at 12.4 17.6 16.2 inches (HWD), that you probably would not want to sit at your table. Once you find a place for it, however, moved to this place is not difficult (it weighs only 35 pounds), and the actual setup easy. Simply remove the packing materials, load paper and toner cartridge, plug in the cable, and run the automated setup routine from disc.
The P3015dn pretty good score for overall output quality, but very good for text. The text is near the top of the range for monochrome lasers, and very good for a fast mono laser, which tend to give a little to get the text quality fast speed.
More than half of the fonts in text suite qualified as well formed and highly readable at 5 points. Even better, all fonts except for one highly stylized font with thick strokes passed both the test at 8 points. Text is just short of what is required for the highest quality publishing desktop, but it is more acceptable for other uses.
Typical graphical output for mono laser, which makes more than good enough for internal business use. It's also useful for PowerPoint handouts and the like, as long as you do not try to impress people with how well the output looks. I saw some minor appeal; relatively obvious dithering in the form of graininess and light patterns; and the stack height is not evenly distributed in a solid block, which shows the different places as different reflect light from multiple angles. These are all typical problems for a mono laser.
Output photos to the bottom of the range where most mono lasers fall. It was certainly good enough to print recognizable photos from Web pages yet. Depending on how demanding or may not consider it good enough for print output as a photo for a company or client newsletters.
