HP Envy 4500 black box low-profile, slightly higher than the Envy 120, but it is more prudent than the main sub- £ 50 competitors. This is done using the same print engine, two-cartridge, tri-color cartridge and black. This makes the machine easier to maintain, but can produce ink wastage, if you print a lot of color.
1,200ppi flatbed scanner has the Automatic Document Feed (ADF), which you would not expect in this class of machine, but the lid substantially and avoid fingerprints-hungry, high-gloss finish of the previous model.
The control panel, the steeply raked front facia, has a 50mm LCD display set into it. It's not unusual in an entry-level all-in-one, but HP has been economised by using mono LCD. This is not limiting as it might seem. Although you can not see the thumbnails of photos, the printer does not have a card or USB slot, so there is little call for.
